Analysis of Production Logos and music in comedy trailers

The main Fox Searchlight Pictures production logo appears at a zoom earlier in the trailer and last for about 2 seconds. Within our trailer, we could have the production logo coning at a zoom or the typography could be arriving in a linear way, as is justified within this trailer. The sound bridge of the flute plays throughout the beginning of the trailer, we managed to achieve this in our trailer, with the rock music. The transition from the instrumental to the jazz music is exemplary in our trailer, as there is a constant change in music from rock to more or an indie type of music.

The use of the titles seem to be iconic of comedy trailers and last for roughly 1-2 seconds, we managed to incorporate this in our trailer, but we could stretch out some of the important tiles, as we have included a voice over, which doesn't require any titles.

Generally, in comedy trailers, the need for TIMING is crucial, as it generates more laughs from the audience. Also, the change in music is vital as funny sound effects also manage to create humour from the audience. Within the Whip it trailer, when Drew Barrymore says "We need a mascot " is an example of a dialogue which is intended to leave the audience guessing and also generates humour, as the appearance of the protagonist is one to be laughed at. Like the rock skaters, the audience can identify with them and laugh at the protagonist, who is clearly trying to 'fit in with the crowd'.

Within this trailer the production logo comes at the end of the trailer, which is common in most trailers, therefore, we could incorporate our production log at the end of the trailer. Typically, the music shifts, which also seems to change the mood of the audience, as the rock must in his trailer is a sign of hope, as the main protagonist becomes more confident.

Finally, the main film title is arranged at the end of the trailer, which is typical of teen comedy films, as they are seemingly irrelevant to the audience's focus. I have noticed that the logo arrives with its own sound effect, which manages to give it more of a focus, this particular convention is seen throughout most Hollywood films, and is definitely one convention which we have included in our trailer.

Similarly, the other information such as the coming soon logo and the directors and cast members information is also necessary. Particularly in our trailer, we have focused on the cast members information and the Coming Soon to a degree of detail and have positioned it an place which is typical in most teen comedy trailers.
