SCREW'd film synopsis

PARMINDER MATHARU

SCREW'd follows the life of the main protagonist Jenny, a desperate, clumsy school girl from a typical Indian family, who, unlike her family's expectations of her, likes to 'get around' with the boys. SCREW'd subverts from the typical Hollywood genre, which deals with teen pregnancy, as our film gives a fair, light hearted perspective on how teenage pregnancy is dealt with amongst ethnic groups in society .

During the busy half term, after senselessly getting drunk and sleeping around with three guys, Jenny faces a huge bombshell- she's pregnant!! As Jenny is from an Indian family, she intends to keep the pregnancy secret, in order to evade from an uproar and interrogation from her family, as they traditionally disapprove of teen pregnancy. Unknowingly, Jenny holds the family's trust and confides in her friends to find the father of her child, through various means.

In order to improve her situation, Jenny enlists the help of her best friend Zach, in order to find out who the father is
. Zach encourages Jenny to salvage DNA evidence, in the form of saliva, hair strands from each of the three guys she slept with. Along the way, Jenny ends up falling in love with (Joe), who is performing alongside her in the school's theatre production. Jenny fears that if she reveals her situation to him, he will end up leaving her, therefore she conceals it from him. Jenny is left feeling guilty, when Zach asks her to tell each of the guys. How will each of the guys react to the news? Who is the father? What will happen to Jenny?
